Survival games are my jam , so any chance I get to play one is an enjoyable experience . However , while I did have fun with Winter Survival , it needs a little more depicted object and estimable gameplay for it to become a survival title I will play back .
Gameplay
Winter Survival is a classic natural selection game with quite a moment of geographic expedition and crafting option . I enjoy the craft card and the manner categories can part the recipes ; it makes my life easy when I need to craft in a surge . It was also very helpful knowing I could tick on the required material for a formula and see that formula as well if it was something to craft .

The inventorying machinist was a flake annoying with the weight unit bound that could break your ankles if you went over it , but that ’s nothing new in games like this . This can become better when you makeadditional cheststo put your clobber in , but you ’ll still involve to make a hatful of them because they also have weight limits .
Another issue I had with the armoury was when you pick out an item to eat . Instead of letting me tap the nutrient and increase my hungriness until I was n’t starving , it would take me out of the inventory carte du jour every prison term to show an eating cutscene . This was n’t that bad when I was eat canned nutrient , but when I needed to eat 20 berries not to cash in one’s chips , it got pretty annoying .
The game ’s most fun shop mechanic are the various buffs , debuffs , and symptom that make your experience in the woods interesting , to say the least . drink in insensate water gave me heart coolness , which slowly froze me because I could n’t make tea . It makes the game more thought-provoking as well , that ’s for certain . I also like that the symptom can be prepare by completing special challenges , like getting a certain act of steps .

The game looks very beautiful and very naturalistic . The surround , in general , is very well plan , even if it was sometimes too white due to the snow . But that ’s how it is in material life , so I ca n’t complain if it hurts my eyes .
The area is empty of humans , only filled with animals and your delusion . They used decrepit construction , hunting towers , abandoned wagons , and campsites to increase your feeling of being absolutely alone . It definitely worked on me ; I was frightened even in all-inclusive daylight . Getting lost and alone in the heart of winter in a timber is one of the top five bad - case scenarios for me , after all .
However , it was n’t just fear . One night , I walk out expecting to be frightened of the dark and saw the Northern Lights . It was a beautiful experience in a scary and tragic story . Did I stand staring at it for a while and almost get injured by a wolf ? I will neither substantiate nor abnegate it . I can see a lot of effort in how well - crafted the manakin are and how realistic the game looks . Once new contentedness and Modern areas get added , I ’m certain it will look just as amazing as what we have so far .

Winter Survival is an early - admittance plot , so it ’s no surprise that there are some bugs in it . fortuitously , they are few and far between , and I have n’t had any game - break bugs that would force me to resume my save .

I ’ve had a few takings with animal models glitching . A deer has been deposit on the log next to the cabin for a couple of day now , and I have to admit it manages to jumpscare me every undivided time . I ’ve also had issues with beast model , particularly when I kill them , and they abruptly come up back to life later on . Luckily , they do n’t move ; they just stand there and dash me . Another minor microbe I ’ve encountered is some resources float in the melodic line , like stone , logs , and Allium sativum .

At sentence , the story progression glitched because it would n’t activate a timer the right way on a seeking ( annoyingly ) . It took me forever to actualize something was incorrect . It was an loose repair , though ( I just had to restart the biz ) . The vainglorious progeny I had was the game crashing , but it only hap once , and it did n’t make me to turn a loss any onward motion .
While many of the bugs are annoying , they really are n’t as bad as they could be . I have n’t lose a bicycle that I work so firmly to make , like in some game ( looking at you , 7 Days to Die ) . And it is important to remember that this game is in other access . accord to patch bill , the developers are actively work on fix , which is slap-up to hear .

Story
Sadly , there is n’t that much report in Winter Survival yet . Often , survival game without stories do super well . You just have to look at Palworld and how popular it has become . However , what Palworld has that Winter Survival does n’t is a big receptive world .
There is a lot to explore , but with how much of the story exists powerful now , it just is n’t enough . you could play back and research for a while , but once you explore the total mapping and complete the available report , there is n’t much else to do . That ’s my biggest issue with the secret plan , but with new Acts in the making , I believe we will get more replayability out of it .
Even with the limited story , I have enjoyed it quite a bit . I ’m very much concerned in where it goes and how all of the insanity effects will impact it . If you do n’t really care much about the story , the biz does offer an dateless modal value where you could search the area freely and it has many crafting options available .

Verdict - A work in progress
I am a huge fan of survival game , and it ’s been one of the best years for the genre , with many games standing out . Winter Survival is n’t on that level just yet . I have savor my time in it , but I do n’t see myself play it for a long meter . I ’ll look and see if more tale content and future update make it a good experience . I ’m keep on my fingers sweep .
