Capcom is taking hunting to a whole newfangled level inMonster Hunter Wilds . It ’s not just about tracking and battling monsters any longer — you ’ll also be up against the caprice of nature itself . During the Capcom panel atPAX West 2024 , the developers behind the plot emphasized just how important the conditions will be in Wilds .
The game ’s producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced , “ For Wilds , we aimed to create a two - dimensional two - face aspect , where you could see the dangerous aspects as well as the nature and like the peaceful side . ” I quite like the juxtaposition of this , seeing the duality of nature while you ’re out and about on a hunt sound awing .
You ’ll never have the same experience double when you go out hunt . Community manager Joe Bustos said during the panel that “ Weather status will lurch between the locales , and every hunt club will experience unlike . "

But once the tempest passes , you ’ll find yourself in the “ plenty period , ” where the sky are bright and the Earth feels relatively passive .
This dynamic weather is n’t just for show . It has a unmediated impact on the monsters you ’ll face and the strategies you ’ll ask to survive . Tsujimoto let on that some giant will seem during sure weather condition , and there are mechanics that you’re able to only play in those weather weather . For instance , the solar apex devil of each locale will typically show up when the sphere is experiencing unpleasant weather . And here ’s a coolheaded pull : you may even employ lightning from storms to help you in your scrap !

The devs are clearly excited about how these weather change will keep player on their toe . Bustos hinted at “ wild surprise , ” which makes you wonder what other wild weather - related mechanics might be in store . Imagine being ambushed by a herd of monsters ( which is absolutely potential with some of the monsters journey in herds ) , or set up up a pour down - up summer camp during a sudden waterspout . With unseamed quests that set forth the moment you engage your target , the experience feels more animated than ever .
The Forbidden Wilds , the lands your Hunter will explore , have been crafted to feel “ truly active , ” and it ’s clear that Capcom is serious about making every hunt in Monster Hunter Wilds a unique risky venture . Expect to see Monster Hunter Wilds make its debut in 2025 on PlayStation 5 , Xbox Series X|S , and microcomputer via Steam .
