Expectations are eminent !

By act Manor Lords I relived the joy of playing medieval city - edifice strategies like Stronghold , Settlers , and Total War . Comparing those titles inspired me to make up five matter I wish well were in Manor Lords early access code .

Top 5 things I would love to see in Manor Lords Early Access

Before I present you with my Manor Lords ' ideas for next update , I must mention that developer Slavic Magic was very exculpated aboutwhat this secret plan is about — a primarilycity - builder game with battlesas an added value .   Having said that ,   I still expect more from Manor Lords .

5. Family ties in Manor Lords

Families are a grownup part of the game , as villagers are organized into households that work the same jobs . While that ’s very realistic , it made me long for interchangeable choice for my avatar . I bid I had anopportunity to format marriage(as long as it ’s true love , of course ) and thus enlarge my land . The marriage would give me choice ofhaving minor and using them to regularise regionsor to become generals to fight alternatively of me ( auto - combat ) . Also , it would allow a active sandpit scenario where children continue my avatar ’s regulation .

4. Less micromanagement

I understand that micromanagement is part of the city - building experience , but checking everything quickly becomes a chore . This issue can be easily fixed withspecial edict that would automate work . For exercise , I would bed to issue rules of order to worker in edifice like " do n’t work in ( month ) " or " blockade when ( number of items ) . "

For lesson , pick barrier is seasonal , and having villagers twiddling their thumb during winter is not a good idea . Instead , I must dual - check all important buildings for each time of year and move workers . Adrop - down menu with orders for each eccentric of structurewould make governing much easier .

3. Trade needs an overhaul

Trading in Manor Lords other access is broken . I imagined swap as a way of buying things I ca n’t make on my own while selling select product that are interesting to the buyers . Instead , patronage is a means to avoid producing heavy amounts of goods as it ’s easy to buy them . I found it easy to spam traders with several items to get enough wealthiness to buy everything you need .

I understand that the developer wanted to permit players to differentiate production between territory , but it broke the secret plan concept . For example , I’ll import clay cheaply and exportation rooftop for more moneythan I ever want . For that , I ’ll buy mercenaries , weapon system , beer , apparel — you name it . Havingtrade work as a de facto cheatdiscourages thespian from building most structures . Why would I put in crop fields and mills when I can buy flour for cheap ? In fact , I do n’t even require flour , as I can buy gelt !

2. Castle design

Castle design is total to Manor Lords , but at the moment , it ’s not available in the early access reading . I bear to have options that are more than just ornamental . As a big fan of Stronghold , I have expectations for building my rook . I want tocreate luxurious rooms , castle defenses , and moats . This bring me to the matter I long for the most — siege !

1. Castle siege

With good castle design comes an excellent fighting experience . Instead of sending soldiers to rush resister , I want the game to impel them to think about thebest combat strategies . I would like anoption to evade direct engagement by placing a siegeto famish the opposer and force him to counterattack . Diplomacy would be essential here , where I wish to have anoption to negociate with enemies(especially if multiplayer is introduced ) . If scrap is inevitable , I need siege machines to foresee everything the enemy throws at me .
