Versatility over magnate .
grind levels and equip the most powerful arm possible is n’t going to get you far in Final Fantasy XVI . No , what you need aremastered abilitiesand the right jazz band . But since there are only three Eikon slots and six ability slots , you might be wondering which ones you should take with you . Here are all the Eikons in FF16 , ranked .
All Eikons in FF16 ranked from worst to best
Note : Just because it ’s on the bottom grade does n’t mean that it ’s useless . I in reality found every Eikon bully in its own way . It just so go on that others have more utility !
10. Ramuh
Ramuh is one of two well - balanced Eikons in Final Fantasy 16 ( the other being Bahamut ) . Its tone-beginning sell near - equal HP and will damage . But what progress to it bottom tier for me — you want Eikons that specialize in raw harm or will gauge depletion . This will allow you to control which Eikons to use when your opponent is up and moving and which ones to use when they ’re down .
Ramuh has the most player - friendly AoE flak , with less timing to think about . It ’s ideal for multitude who are not too battle - intensive in their secret plan .
9. Bahamut
Bahamut is the Eikon to use for role player who desire to stay far off from the foeman . All its abilities are long - mountain range . Instead of receive all of these abilities equilibrize in terms of stats like Ramuh , Bahamut has move that are either high ability or high will damage . This is the cause I call it well - balanced .
Still , as I ’ve said above , I ’m not a huge fan of “ well - balance ” Eikons , so I ’d have to put Bahamut on the bottom half . Do take Gigaflare as an power , though . It ’s a farseeing and powerful punch when the enemy ’s will gauge has been depleted . I also wish Satellite , which helps deplete will caliber faster .

8. Garuda
Garuda , to me , is good for two thing only : Aerial Blast and Deadly Embrace . I like to fuse the two during continuous mob fight ( using Deadly Embrace to pull things into the Tornado ) . Tornado and Deadly Embrace can also be used during boss battles thanks to their respective power .
As the wind Eikon , Garuda ’s also the overlord of aery combos . Those who are comfortable with activeness RPGs and combo linking will discover a band of usage for Garuda . For more fooling role player like myself , however ? I find Shiva the good option .
7. Shiva
Shiva ’s kit is a combination of other Eikons : Ifrit / Phoenix ( bowel movement ) , Garuda ( embracing ) , and Ramuh ( AoE ) . It ’s a well Eikon to equip if you ’re not specializing in any of the I cite . I put Shiva higher on this leaning entirely because of one move : Diamond Dust .
Diamond Dust depletes a estimable chunk of your enemies ’ will gauges , bump off twice , and billing cursorily . In fact , it ’s so virile that it cuts notorious marks ’ and mid - boss ’ will gauge by at least half ( 75 % if you ’re strong ) . If you ’re not using Shiva , at least take this move with you . You wo n’t repent it .
6. Phoenix
I ’ve talk about how I ’m not a vast fan of well - equilibrise things , but Phoenix ’s Flame of Rebirth just procs so long that the three - champion damage it deals is deserving it . you may even expend it in big mob struggle and restore HP when you ’re in a pinch .
Aside from that , we all know how useful and versatile Phoenix Shift is . Not only can you use it to get unaired , but I find it a more true contrivance clitoris when you ’re far off from your target .
5. Leviathan
If you boughtThe Rising Tide DLC , then you ’ll have access to one of the best Eikons in the game : Leviathan . Leviathan ’s unique ability turns Clive ’s arm into a gun , which also changes his basic motility . Square will inject water system ball , and a triangle will deal devastating farseeing - compass surface area - wide good time . The only grab is the reload , but it ’s such a small price to yield to quickly discharge those nasty Tonberries from a distance .
Leviathan is also host to one of my best-loved power , Tsunami , which is a Gigaflare that someone deals twice its harm . It ’s tiresome to load but cathartic to practice .
4. Titan
Titanic Block is a gold rush . It ’s crack histrion friendly , for one . As long as you ’re hit from the front , just holding the button will block the attack . It ’s also really good for action musician because of its counter car-mechanic . Instead of skirt attacks , a Precision Block will reward you so much in counter damage . Since this a move native to Titan , it conk up our list .
I ’m more of a fast combo thespian . But even I have to profess that Titan ’s abilities , though not my preferred way to wreak , are pretty damn beneficial . They deal large damage without the long charge clock time . You just want to be precise with your timings !

3. Ifrit
I know Ifrit only has two abilities , not including the limit gauge , but both have been integrate too much into my gameplay for me not to place this Eikon near the top . First off , if you have n’t fit and upgraded Will - o’-the - Wykes , you ’re missing out on one of the best abilities in Final Fantasy 16 .
Will - o’-the - Wykes is a cuticle that can boil down the equipment casualty of enemy flack . upgrade , it can neutralize up to four blast , allowing you to cut up and slash with fewer headache . you’re able to even economise it for a big attack you ca n’t skirt because it ’ll invalidate that too .
It also deals additional damage with seemly stagger utility when you get skinny enough to your fair game . Plus , it excite really quickly , so you’re able to have it up for 80 % of your fights .

Meanwhile , Ignition ’s sport if you do n’t have Shiva equip , as I use it more for movement than anything . you may also use it to push back any foeman ( even marks and mid - boss ) and mess up their combo .
2. Odin
I ’ve bullied a lot of enemies with Odin ’s sword combos , and you could too . Never take care Odin ’s equippable abilities ( though they ARE very good)—the material strength behind this Eikon is Arm of Darkness and Zantetsuken . Arm of Darkness changes Clive ’s sword to Odin ’s blade . While not as potent as his regular brand , it does deal more attacks , which lend up to more wrong .
For example , when you parry , it impart a lethal counter . And when you execute a Precision Dodge with the steel out , an equally lethal come after - up attack will mechanically trigger . Both of these will sate up one bar of the Zantetsuken gauge at once .
Zantetsuken is the most deadly move of them all .

At stratum five ( overcome ) , it can deplete as much as 25 % to 40 % of a ill-famed mark ’s HP . And if you coil the combos with the Precision Dodges and parries , your opposite will barely have enough window to set up an attack . Odin is the honorable Eikon of them all — genuinely befitting of a king .
1. Ultima
When I first saw the Ultima Eikon abilities , I really , truly wondered if this god wanted to croak by my hand so bad . Why would it give Clive the equivalent weight of a Deus Ex Machina power tree ? Armed with AoE abilities that are both eminent in world power and high in stagger and an " Ascension " musical mode that multiplies your basic attack damage by three and turns them into AoE moves , you ’re nigh unkillable with those wing .
Unfortunately , these power are lock behind The uprise Tide DLC . Ultima only give them to you because as a reward for finding Leviathan ’s lost exponent .
