" You ’re my favourite . Shh , do n’t secern anyone . " - Cayde-6

The Final Shape expansion for Destiny 2 is under a week away and I for one am stoked . Nearly 10 years of Destiny storytelling is ready to come to a ( hopefully ) brilliant end , but with all the new clobber we ’ll be seeing , what is there to really wait forwards to in The Final Shape ?

The Ending We Deserve

This will be the finale of the tale of Light and Darkness , starting back in 2015 with us awaking on the main road in Russia and taking us all the way to now , as we resurrected the spirit of an vicious flying lizard just to take us where we need to go .

The Final Shape will see us finally present our great benefactor and curse , the Traveler , and journeying into ' The Pale Heart ' . The Witness , the greatest foeman we ’ve ever face up and the whole reason we ’re in this mess to start with , plans to enforce his complete imaginativeness of stillness upon the world , and we ’re gon na have to do our infernal to send him packing .

This is , in my opinion , the single big affair to be excited for . I began my Destiny journey when I was 15 year old , and now come into the final stage , I am 25 . I finished high school , college , start to university once and neglect , then move back and graduated . I ’ve had jobs and family relationship , fun and heartache , and all the while Destiny has been there slowly coming to an oddment . The elbow grease of millions of Guardians are come to realisation , and if that is n’t something to be dead buzzed about , I do n’t recognise what is .

New (and old) activities in The Pale Heart

The Pale Heart , the arena we ’ll be spending most of our time in this forthcoming elaboration , is shape ( ha ) up to be a real ocular delicacy . We ’ll be confronted by landmark of our journey so far , such as the highway where we first waken all the elbow room back in 2014 ( or more of late for the New Lights amongst us ) , and the very actual Ghosts of our past , all twisted into new horrors to face and navigate . But apart from the outstanding intent direction , The Pale Heart has some other things we should get excited about .

In IGN’shands on stamp , they in short advert young public events , lost sectors , and even patrol . Whilst these may at first seem like a given , and only unexciting , I would reason otherwise . New types of these event come with most every expanding upon , but deplorably they all tend to follow a similar rule . patrol are never really unexampled or exciting , there ’s just … more of them . And the same go for public events , with them all typically focalise on pour down some variety of boss or defending some object lens on a more than generous time limit .

With The Final Shape , however , there ’s a substantial chance for some new liveliness to be breathed into these long - resist facet of our daytime - to - daytime gameplay . With new public events number new payoff , and with the new foe types come with The Final Shape in the form of the ' Dread ' , they ’ll be fresh in a path we have n’t seen in some time . Further , with new patrol come new understanding to research this esoteric new locale , and delve into its enigma and mysteries .

Whether or not they will be any good is yet to be seen , but it ’s worth some measure of excitement at least . We often blank out the little touch in all the nobility of campaigns and exotics , when there is so much human touch we dribble over . I myself am shamed of this because , for the long time , I ’ve never function out of my fashion to search the raw areas we ’ve been given ( aside from the clock time I ’ve had to for missions or exotic quests ) . Iwantthat to change , and with the exceptional pattern of The Pale Heart , and some luck at some bracing twists on old substance , it just might yet .

End Game Content Changes

lot 2 is take away an interesting approach to both the finale of the story , and how it act in relation to the main cause on offer in The Final Shape this clip around . Typically , Destiny expansion hunting expedition have always had ' the crowing badness ' , and while fighting them in the military campaign has occur often enough , it ’s typically not until the maraud that you in reality go out and overcome them for good . you may search to Destiny 1 for examples of how all this typically plays out . The first expansion for Destiny 1 was The Dark Below which ended with us defend Crota , Son of Oryx . So , in ' Crota ’s closing ' , the raid which dropped shortly thereafter , we went and finished him off .

However , Bungie understands that with The Final Shape , things can’tquitework that way in the retentive outpouring . Raids are prohibitively unmanageable and hard to organize for many player ( even I with my many years ' experience have n’t done them all ) . organize five friends is one thing , but working with five strangers is another . And then in accession to the logistic incubus Raids present , they ’re also justreallyhard . The puzzles are tough and typically require not bad communicating and skill , and fighting skirmish are protracted and challenging . ( My very first completion of Leviathan from Destiny 2 tooksix hours ) .

In apost to Reddit in April , Bungie explained that while the final battle would be done in the foray publish three day after the outlet of The Final Shape , it wouldfirstrequire completion of the master safari and some post - campaign content , and in addition to this , there would be a way for non - raider to experience the final fight for themselves sometime after release . Rejoice !

The Prismatic Subclass

One of the big merchandising level of The Final Shape , as it has been with previous expansions that tally a subclass ( Beyond Light with Stasis , and Lightfall with Strand ) , is of form Prismatic .

detail on how precisely Prismatic will work are of line scarce until we can all get our hand on it at release ( if you ’re really itching , we did abreakdown ) , but theconcept is deep interesting : a combination of our Light and our Dark abilities wield at the same metre , with Modern mechanics for using and superintend this combining .

One matter we do know is each class will receive a Prismatic - specificgrenadethat will combine two of the pre - existent elements we have : hunter will incur the Hailfire Spike , which combines Stasis and Solar ; Warlocks will receive the Freezing Singularity , which coalesce Stasis and Void , and Titans will have the Electrified Snare , which will combine Strand and Arc . In improver to this , all other class abilities will be available to you with Prismatic . For example , my Warlock could have the Incinerator Snap melee in compounding with the Void Blink jump , and then whatever super I desire .

The opening with this one are ostensibly dateless and I cannotwaitto get in there and determine something that absolutely rocks and yet offers absolutely zero fight strength whatsoever . ( I’mreallygood at that . ) Of of course , we ’ll have to be wary of Bungie ’s chronicle of liberate wildly imbalanced subclasses , and simply interbreed our fingers that we ’ll have a solid launching of this very exciting new subclass .

And that ’s a partitioning of some things you should be excited about going into The Final Shape in Destiny 2 , but sense free to lease us know whatyou’reexcited for . While you ’re here , suss out out some other Destiny pieces we ’ve done to avail you prepare , like our account of theLoot Pool for Root of Nightmares , or our breakdown of thebest Last Wish weapons !
